Hi Jesse,
If you have the remote accessible PDU in your experimental enclosures, for example, APC, you can easily add their temperature and humidity sensor quietly easily, https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/AP9335TH/apc-temperature-humidity-sensor/
And SNMP will work with the communication also. We don't use it for production, but I will use a few sensors in our few racks. If you need an EPICS IOC, please let me know.

We use the Omega EWS TC model with MeasComp TC-32 and E-TC for air temperature monitoring, and Mark's https://github.com/epics-modules/measComp works well.
