There is a difference between stepper and servos, yes.
First of all, the controller must support servo motors.
These days many/most controllers come with a vendor-tool
to commission and fine-tune the motors.
Once that is done, we can set up an EPICS IOC to control
the motors through EPICS.
I don't know anything about "max v", so the question really is,
which motion controller do you want to use for the servos ?
