I have a question about that.  Which of the following messages will be sent to the remote log server?

• errlogPrintf
• fprint to stdout
• fprint to stderr

Only the functions of the errlog module will communicate with the errlog thread and push messages for delivery to the registered listeners.

(The console is by default registered as a listener.)

Usually, I print results or side effects of iocShell commands directly to stdout/stderr and anything from the driver - especially from background threads and if it can happen without an iocShell command - through errlog.

Also: be careful about not calling errlog functions before the errlog module is initialized. Things may not behave as expected.
