Our desire to use version 3.12 at CEBAF is strong, and we have a tight
commissioning schedule with which to contend. In order to install 3.12 as
early as possible we got a beta version of 3.12 to work with. This has enabled
us to find any HP-UX/Sun incompatibilities and remove them. We will have to
install any differences between the official 3.12 and our version once the
release becomes official, but CVS should make this almost trivial.
