We started with Force boards (on Keck) and transitioned to Motorola (on
Bevalac, Gammasphere). We had so many fewer problems we have never looked back.

The Motorola 167's have been very straightforward to support and we have a
bunch of them in Gammasphere.  In one crate.

We will probably move to the powerpc next.  Sparcs in vme have been trouble.

I've not found satisfied vme sparc users, though I haven't looked recently.
