Hi,
I've had the same problems as we use A4 printers here. I brought the
subject up at the Consortium meeting in Tucson in January. As a result
people were going to start providing Frame sources so that the document
size could be changed. I don't know if that has started to happen yet.
Here we have a variety of printers. It seems that one or two are a bit
'brain dead' and print these documents on A4. So it might be worth
trying some other printers.
Some people here have said that they have succeded by editing the
postscript file. I tried this with no success.
The solution I put together was to buy a letter size tray for the
printer. With that the printer is happy and prints the document. Onto
what was slightly more difficult. I couldn't find a supplier of Letter
size paper, A4 doesn't fit, but I did find one supplier who specially
made letter size paper for me, and it was quite cheap.
hope this helps.
