It doesn't matter, but there are some advantages/disadvantages to each. For
Analog AI/AO, I prefer to use an analog out record because I can set up
.DRVH and .DRVL in the record such that the sequence program doesn't have
to worry about limit checking (the record handles it). For binary types, I
usually use MBBO records because they give you up to 16 commands that you
can send to the sequence.

Another suggestion .... since it seems that the user is interacting with the
sequence program, provide a few soft string_in records that the sequence
can write to in order to communicate back to the users. Status messages
like "Not all channels connected", or "Sequence Idle" or "Input command doesn't
make sense" go along way in providing user friendly applications.
