Has anyone given any thought to the new Tornado product? I have looked
at the literature briefly and found that other than a perhaps slightly
improved vxgdb (CrossWind) and the 5.3 version of vxWorks, there doesn't
look like there's much to it that would actually benefit me. It does
come with the GNU C++ compiler, some convenience tools, and some tools
which could provide some additional system diagnostics, but these
don't justify the $8000 upgrade cost. It turns out that Tornado is
*required* to get the 5.3 release (and obviously subsequent releases) so
either I buy Tornado or I'm stuck with a dead kernel.
Any other thoughts out there?
