Subject: Kiethly 2002 IVM and GPIB

We are currently thinking of obtaining a Kiethly 2002 integrating
voltmeter to read out the "direct current" of the beam in the PEP-II
rings. The mode which at first glance seems most useful is to ask it
to integrate for a time (a second or so), then send a timestamp and
data back to the GPIB controller.

Which GPIB controllers are good candidates to interface to the IVM?
I'd prefer to write as little new device/driver support as possible.

Is it easier not to use the interrupt facilities of GPIB? We could
just poll the IVM for last timestamp and data item.

Is there a better IVM supported by EPICS already for this purpose?
