At APS, each CAT is viewed as a 'site'.
What I (speaking only for myself) would like to see, is EPICS handed out as
EXE's build for fixed platforms, with all the files (obj's, I guess)
required to load an IOC with that particular version of EPICS all sitting
in one or two directories that I can directly point my IOC to without
worrying about the EPICS release, or vxWorks, or anything. This equates to
about 3-5 Meg for the IOC side.
That way, if someone says, "I want to boot an IOC and do such-and-such",
you can point them to a single directory, have them download the 1-2 dozen
files, and boot there stuff with out having to know *ANYTHING* about EPICS.
