Hello Marian,
There are a couple of things you may need to know to make
the archiver work. First, you must have valid timestamps
on the channels you are trying to archive. The archiver
also requires that at least one piece of data in the sample
be changing. We usually set up a soft channel in an IOC
such as a calculation record that just increments a count
as its value and is scanned so that it processes regularly.
The archiver was built to be used for beam synchronous data,
so it cares about matched timestamps. To circumvent this
problem, the channels in the request file may be prefaced
with the letter "F" (filled data). The following is an
example:
counter
F rec1
F rec2
where "counter" is the calc record I mentioned above and
rec1 and rec2 are channels you wish to archive.
Hope this helps! Let me know if you have more questions/
problems. BTW, Bob Dalesio and others are currently working
on a new archiving capability. Hopefully, this one will
be easier to use :-).
