The problem I see with JDM at the moment is that (I believe) it relies
on a CDEV gateway running on the www-server. This will be fine for some
sites, but additional complexity and slowness for others.
Bearing in mind Chip's comments on the speed of Java JDM might become a
resonable standard DM for use with NT, but I'd want to be able to
connect to IOCs directly using Channel Access, without having to set up
a WWW-server *and* a CDEV gateway. If the collaboration wants a
standard Display Manager under NT it's going to have to support Channel
Access directly IMHO or someone will write a program that does.
