I'm in the process of wading through the piles of hacks that I've
accumulated in trying to keep up with EPICS for the past six
years. I'm trying to clean up/reorganize/rebuild everything under
3.13.0beta11, including all of my databases. I finally got
gdct313 working well (meaning I finally figured out where to put
everything so that it was happy), and found that I could load my
old databases into the new gdct with only a few adjustments to
the .db files. Then I got to the second database. It uses macro
substitution in the calc field of a calc record. GDCT313 won't
have anything to do with it. As a test, I made a test database.
It will let me enter "$(name)" as the record name, but it chokes
on "$(whatever)" in the calc field. I haven't tested to see what
other fields won't take it... I'm hoping someone will tell me
that it still works but I have to do something differently.
