I can imagine. I spent days with the motor record just to find out why
sometimes things you think should happen don't and vice versa. It took
me weeks to finally understand how the record works and how I can make
my changes without breaking everything else.

AFAIK, HOMR/HOMF is reset immediately after the home procedure is set
up. The STOP signal obviously should NOT be ignored during a home
procedure, and as far as I remember, this is indeed the case. A STOP
lets the motor record decelerate into a stop under ANY circumstance
(although a stop during the backlash correction phase can take almost
indefinitely long, one of the many reasons I had to rewrite portions of
the record).
