I recently noticed error messages like
"0x41048 S_iosLib_TOO_MANY_OPEN_FILES" from our vme crate (epics
3.13beta11) and a failure to connect when we tried a particular client
(medm 2.3.4a for Solaris 2.5.1), while also connected with medm 2.3.3 from
another workstation and with a PC client using Win32 ca.dll from LBNL.
Another Win32 client connecting at the same time did not cause this message
and connected, but maybe pretty slowly. I have never noticed this behavior
before in similar situations. Following a crate reboot this problem does
not appear, but some PV's were not restored by autorestore (like our mono
calibration!!) on the reboot. Can someone give me any informaton about
what's going on here and/or how/where to obtain more info in this
situation? Before I rebooted I tried a couple of ioc command line status
commands and didn't see anything that might indicate an error situation as
far as I can tell.
Thanks
