We have a fairly urgent current issue associated with the Channel Access
gateway which is going to need fixing ASAP.  However I want to ensure that
we don't go reinventing the wheel and I have a vague memory that someone
else reported on doing some work on enhanced pattern matching of channel
names in the configuration file.  We need more flexibility in the
allow/deny configuration than the version we have at APS at present. If
anyone has modified the CA gateway in a related area and hasn't already
fed the changes back to APS, could you let me have a summary of the
modifications you've implemented (speed matters more than detail and
accuracy).
