I am going to guess that the 10K/sec number is from a paper describing Channel
Access. If so it refers to a performance test that involves just Channel Acccess
and not record processing.
Note also that performance tests on a powerPC has shown a factor of 10
performance increase over a 25 MHz 68040. The test involved record processing
but with no CA clients attached so it does not measure CA performance.
