I've been using the VME8-8 instead of the OMS 58 but I use this feature
for boosting the drive current to the motors. I'm using version 4.41 of 
the motor record and there is one gotcha as far as I know .... see 
below. Note that the pre-move command has a space as part of the 
command. I found that this was required to get the pre-move to work 
properly. So, you should check that your signals work with your database.
