I am trying to extend the life of some of our old hardware by changing the front end to EPICS. The system consists of a bunch of CAMAC modules that we made here at Argonne. I am running EPICS 3.13.7 on an MVME172 (eventually, this needs to go to PPC). I have a Hytec 2992 VME CAMAC Serial Highway Controller and a CAMAC 3952 Serial Highway Crate controller and the EPICS CAMAC stuff from CEBAF/JLAB/LANL.
When one of our boards I get Errors back from EPICS and the longitudinal parity error light on the Hytec board. Enable commands seem to be doing there thing despite the error messages and requested data seems to make it to the data way as indicated by a CAMAC Dataway display board.
If I create another record, and point it at a Camac Dataway Display, requesting data the values that come back from this are reasonable.
Can anyone give pointers as to what is going wrong?
