Hi:
I've been getting behind in keeping the web page updated;
(follow the links from the main APS EPICS page, which should
get you to
http://ics-web1.sns.ornl.gov/~kasemir/archiver/index.html).
There is a snapshot "archiver-client.tgz" with a README
and shell script that builds things on Linux,
but it's quite old.
You might be able to manually duplicate the script's actions
on Windows: Mostly it uses "find" to build a list of source files
and then runs javac.
The viewer is in the capable hands of Sergei Chevtov
who's currently at ORNL busily improving the viewer
and experimenting with webstart to make installation
easier.
In general, you now need "ant" to build the viewer.
Last time I tried, it did build & run on MacOSX.
We will get an updated snapshot of the sources
on the web page as soon as possible,
but don't hold your breath.
Thanks,
-Kay

I've built the Channel Archiver, Data Server, and Java Client on
Linux. The manual was very complete in this regard. Now I'd like to
build the java client for Windows. The Readme doesn'n't give much
direction. I've spent a few hours hacking away, but so far no success.
Has anyone built the Java Viewer for Windows? Can you send me the
basic steps you followed?
How about building the viewer for MacOSx?
