Hello Wayne,
At Diamond we are planning on using 1394 Firewire cameras for various
applications interfaced through Linux or VxWorks based systems. Steve Hunt
has developed EPICS driver and device support to interface a range of
Firewire cameras. Information on this was presented at the Santa Fe EPICS
meeting
http://lansce.lanl.gov/EPICS/presentations/Steve%20Hunt%20-%20Firewire.ppt
If your interested in going this route we can sent you the EPICS support.
Best Regards.
Mark
