To avoid ambiguity, channel names must be unique to a client. Your
client obviously "sees" channels both directly as well as through the CA
Gateway.
Possible ways to fix this problem include
- Setting up the environment for your client so that it sees the IOC
either direct or through the Gateway (but not both) - based on IP networks
- Setting up the environment for the Gateway so that it does not see
(and forward) IOCs in the local network - based on IP networks
- Setting up the PV list of the Gateway so that it does not forward
channels from a local IOC - based on channel names
The correct solution depends on the structure of your network and the
design of your application. You will have to properly identify your data
sources and sinks (i.e. CA servers and clients) and their location in
your network(s) to find out who should be supposed to see what through
which path (Gateway or direct).
Once you know what you want to achieve, the CA Reference Manual (the
sections on Environment Variables and WANs) and the Gateway Users Guide
(sections on Access Security and Gateway Configurations) will provide
you with the details of how to set up your clients and/or Gateways.
Hope this helps,

Hello all
I'm tring to use PV gateway but I have one trouble.
Once use PV gateway with small number of record, PV gateway works well.
But when use with large number of records ( over 200 ),
some records are connected to PV gateway but other records connecet to
EPICS IOC directry.
It means some record say
`DB CA Link Exception: "Identical process variable name on multiple
servers",
contest "Channel: "archive:wf83", Connecting to :
ccnet307.tokai.jaeri.go.jp:5064, Ignored : 133/53/55/207:5064" '
other records say
`DB CA Link Exception: "Identical process variable name on multiple
servers",
contest "Channel: "archive:wf44", Connecting to : 133.53.55.207:5064,
Ignored : ccnet307.tokai.jaeri.go.jp:5064" '.
ccnet307 is EPICS IOC and 133.53.55.207 is PV gateway server.
Thanks
