Yes this is the expected behavior. The idea is that SEVR is always
invalid and STAT is always UDF until the record is processed the first
time.
For soft device support with a constant input link this does not make sense to me. Let's say I want an ai record to simply hold the value of Pi which I will use in other records. If those other records fetch the link with MS then they will also be Invalid. Why is such a soft record Invalid if it has never processed? Such records should never need to process. If UDF=0 it seems illogical that STAT=UDF.
