Has anyone implemented EPICS symbolic device support under the Linux OS for v3.14? If not, does anyone have any good ideas about a possible implementation, e.g. shared memory? What do you need it to do? If you just want something very similar to the vxWorks support you might be able to hack something derived from the vxWorks code that uses the linux dlopen(NULL, ...) and dlsym() routines. I did spend some time last year trying to update the vxWorks code while thinking about updating it to be used for any OS (requiring all variables to be registered in the DBD file using variable() statements) but I got side-tracked and gave up. - Andrew -- Podiabombastic: The tendency to shoot oneself in the foot.
