Is a 3.14.8 release coming soon? We would like to move from 3.14.6
built on solaris to 3.14.7 built on linux in September. Should I apply
all the patches on the 3.14.7 known problems page? Is a comprehensive
3.14.7 patch available?
Given the number of problems that we have found and fixed since R3.14.7
(the Known Problems page doesn't have patches for all of these) we ought
to release a 3.14.8 soon, but the core developers have been busy working
on requirements and design for V4. We are holding a developers meeting
at APS next week, after which we should all run our regression tests and
come out with a new release - I would think by September we should be
able to make that happen, although I can't promise that for sure.
In the meantime you can try using the latest CVS snapshot off the R3.14
branch - it isn't guaranteed to work, but I'm not aware of any major
work being done on it recently so it should be worth trying.
