I'd like to suggest that you use the 'operating-system-independent' EPICS routines rather than the vxWorks routines. In that way your driver would be useable on other platforms as well.Have a look at the APS Event System module in http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/download/modules/index.php for an example of an R3.13, vxWorks-only driver that has been converted to R3.14, operating-system-independent. This driver is being used at the APS on RTEMS ColdFire embedded IOCs with the complete APS event receiver in a Stratix II FPGA.
I suppose that I should also put in a recommendation that your base your driver on ASYN. :-)
