We have encountered an issue with an mv162lx running vxworks 5.3.1 when
writing to a file via nfs. Every 10 seconds everything stops for 5
seconds. It appears that this is related to the network driver. The
suggested solution was to set the ethernet connection to half duplex
on the switch. Is this the only solution? The best solution?
Hi Geoff,
how big are the files? We found that for small files it is faster to use
rcp than to do NFS writes. However, we also successfully write larger
files to NFS mounted disks from hkbaja40s and hknitro60s - and we
write logs to NFS mounted disks from other architectures as well,
including mv167s.
We didn't have to do anything special with the ethernet connections
that I know of.
Question: when you say "everything stops" do you mean just the file
writing, or does the whole IOC stop?
Aloha,
Maren
