Dear all,
the first version of the agenda is prepared.

Please check out whether your name is on it (you might not know so far -
hope you agree ... ;-) )

In any case please tell Bob and me (I am off until 25th) about any
changes, additions etc.

If you cannot cover the topic mentioned - please try to find a deputy -
or let us know of the necessary changes.
We have already an interesting agenda - but there's always room for
improvements.

Please notice that we foresee to include some special presentation about
new hardware from German companies. Specially the ATCA/ yTCA
presentation should be mentioned. We hope that we will also have some
equipment on display. Several vendors have shown their interest to
present their products.
On Thursday we plan a guided tour around FLASH. This still has to be
worked out. During the actual maintenance period will hopefully have a
chance to show you a little bit of the installation.

After the FLASH tour we plan the social event. Buses will be organized
(or public transportation @~7€ pp) to bring you to an 'interesting
place' in Hamburg. You will eat in a Hamburg restaurant (German style) -
select from the menu - wait long for the food - and pay what you eat. So
it's your own choice how much you'll spend.

Workshops:

As you can see we have changed the schedule.

Monday is dedicated to EPICS and RTEMS. Fortunately we found a company
in Germany that will give an RTEMS tutorial. (sorry that Eric can now
come over)

The EPICS training is hands on. Please let us (Bob) know if you want to
attend and what your special interests are.
On Tuesday we plan IRMIS and CSS.

During the CSS workshop we will go into the technical details. If you
want to get prepared - get your copy of CSS from our web site:
http://css.desy.de. End of next week a new version will be available.
Already the current one 0.9.2 will give you a functional version and
give you an idea what CSS is all about. -> Do not forget to load the
real applications from our update site. (read instructions).
Last not least - on Friday we will discuss EPICS future and the Java IOC.
Hope all this will catch your interest and you will join the meeting.

Please do not forget, that another workshop is organized at the same
time at DESY (HEPiX). So rush to get one of the reserved rooms in the
hostel. (Btw. you can join the HEPiX workshop while you are at DESY)

Even though we do not ask for a registration fee - we have to get a
realistic head count for our panning.
