At 1 sec., the FLNKd chain of 12 "read" records (each record has to
wait about 50 msec for a response) can not finish before the first one

the message queue is backing up which causes delays for my "set"
messages and causes my "read" messages to also be delayed and out of
sequence.
Unless I can set up more than one port for this device I will have to
live with the >1 sec read rate?
Rob,
even if you may be able to speed up the network response and/or your
CPU, at some point you'll run into a hardware limit. Those of us
who sometimes deal with Lakeshore 208 temperature scanners can tell you
that if you don't give the instrument it's settling time you get
what it will give you before it settles. In case of the LS208 that's
a "---" (which is also what it displays on its fron panel at that time).
Other devices may not respond in time our you get collisions on the
line (seen that one on an Edwards AGC).
Difference device(s), but been there, done that.
Sorry,
Maren
