The Spallation Neutron Source in Oak Ridge, TN invites applications for a Controls Hardware Team Leader.

 

Summary:

 

The Neutron Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a Controls Hardware Team Leader. With the world’s highest flux reactor-based neutron source (the High Flux Isotope Reactor) and the world's most intense pulsed accelerator-based neutron source (the Spallation Neutron Source), ORNL has become the world's foremost center for neutron science. Research at these facilities will encompass the physical, chemical, materials, biological, and medical sciences and will provide opportunities for up to 2000 researchers each year from industry, research facilities, and universities all over the world. The selected candidate will lead a team of engineers and technicians in the overall operation, support and updating of the global custom hardware systems for SNS, including the timing and machine protection systems. This includes day-to-day operations support for the controls hardware systems. For control system upgrades and improvements, it includes: requirements specification and documentation, technical design, resource determination, scheduling, detailed cost estimating, installation oversight, and testing. The incumbent will interface closely with other Controls Group teams, SNS Beam Instrumentation and Accelerator Physics Groups, and other Accelerator Division technical staff at ORNL.
