Hi Terry,
We use a Sun X4100 with a Triton RAID system to store wavefront sensor
images at up to 100 Hz. The frames are stored along with timestamps in a
postgres database. We can retrieve them after the fact with some tools
to extract postgres data into IDL and then display them as images. The
timestamp is the primary key in the table and is critical for later
recall, comparison, and troubleshooting. I am sure you could design
something fairly simple with a frame grabber and a RAID server to store
your video data for later recall. There probably are turnkey commercial
systems available for this purpose as well. We are not using EPICS for
this application.
