If you are writing a new driver I would encourage you to look at the new
C++ base class called asynPortDriver that was added to asyn R4-11.

l
This base class makes it very simple to write a new device driver of any
type (synchronous or asynchronous, VME, serial, with or without
interrupts, etc.) It supports the standard asyn device support for most
common EPICS records. There is an example driver provided in the asyn
distribution.

Subject: driver support initiialization
Hi,
I have created a device driver to interface with a serial to ethernet
adpater, and I was just wondering if it is possible to send the IP
address and port to the driver at initialization, say through an entry
in the st.cmd file?
Thank you,
Patrick
