Hi Geoff,
Short answer: No.
Long answer: You are asking for something which would be quite the
opposite of what the Gateway was originally intended for, i.e. shielding
the IOCs by setting up monitors on the inside that feed into a cache,
and answering all outside requests from the cache.
This has been extended by the option to not cache data, so that get()
requests from the outside are always going through to the IOC.
I don't know if adding the option to have the Gateway actively produce
CA traffic on the IOC side is a step in the right direction.
Also: Wouldn't a periodically scanned record in a soft IOC behave
exactly the way you want?!
Adding the feature of periodic scanning on the Gateway would half-way
convert it to an IOC, mixing functionalities that I would rather see
being kept separate.
Cheers,
Ralph

Hi,
Is it possible to ask the gateway to poll PVs? Currently the gateway
uses monitors when it connects to the PVs on the client side. I would
like the gateway to have the equivalent of a SCAN field for a PV name
it is reading.
Thanks, Geoff
