Yes, we are responsible for the edm video widget and use it extensively.
You have to specify a PV for the image array and another two for the
width and height. It only does black and white video streams. The person
to talk to is Steve Singleton.
Streaming video uncompressed is a bit network intensive, so we have also
written an area detector plug-in (Linux only, I'm afraid) which is a
jpeg video server - the basic idea was to produce a video stream
indistinguishable from the Axis Webcams we have all over the place. This
works well but isn't quite ready for prime time yet, and it means that
we can use standard video clients to handle colour video streams. This
seems to be a far better way to go - Channel Access isn't ideal for
everything. Tom Cobb has been doing this work.
