Can you isolate the problem to the X server or client? What happens if
you run the same version of medm on a Linux system and display on your
Mac, or run medm on your Mac and display on Linux or Windows?

Subject: Odd MEDM behavior on OS-X

Ok, we're having an odd problem here at APS which has myself and others
scratching our heads.

When running MEDM on my Mac (OS X - Leopard) I am able to open and
execute existing screens, but when I try to add an object (using the
object pallet) things get bizarre. I am unable to successfully interact
with any of the object buttons within the palette (so, for example, if I

wanted to place a static rectangle using the drawing object, I cannot
seem to get that button to "press"). All buttons within the object
palette are similarly crippled.

Other uses of the mouse button within MEDM seem fine - for example when
a screen is operating and connected to PVs, I can click on related
displays, or other controllers and have them function properly.

Furthermore the other two palette types (Resource and Color) function
fine.

I realize I can place objects by right-clicking on the display - but
something has changed recently, as I've traditionally always used the
object palette.

Any ideas? Our Mac people have tried differing versions of the OS with
no difference noted.
