Hi Michael
Very interesting to see a new initiative in this area.
Do you have a strong feeling yet or advice as to which
use cases the fsmRecord approach might best support
as opposed to those for which SNL would still be the
best fit ?
Looking forward to hearing more about it at the meeting.
Thanks and best regards

All,
I have been working on a way to represent finite state machines entirely
in the EPICS database. I am making available a preview version since I
will be presenting it at the collaboration meeting. Preview means that
it is not feature complete or ready for production use. However, it is
far enough along that it should be useable for testing.
It can be found on the EPICS sourceforge site:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/epics/files/fsmrecord
The tarball contains an IOC which runs several example state machines
(positioner, gate value, cryo+rough pump) and a set of EDM panels. I
have also written up a document which attempts to explain how it works
and how to use it.
