Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hi Elliot,
We use a different brand (pulizzi). At the time, I found about devSnmp
but that only had read capabilities. In my case I needed to control the
unit - from a vxWorks IOC.
The pulizzi come with secure http (not very friendly to implement), a
serial port with intricate layers of menus (gave up on that), and snmp.
I couldn't find any obvious snmp client for vxworks, so I ran a network
sniffer, looked at how the packets were formed and wrote a simple udp
socket client routine invoked from SNL. So far it has worked well.
Regards
Matthieu

Hi,
We're thinking of using APC Ethernet-controllable rack power
distribution units. One of the many ways you can talk to them is via SNMP.
Has anyone used these or similar units? And what is the status of EPICS
communicating via SNMP?
Thanks,
