Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System

Hello PaweÅ,
thanks a lot for your cooperation - I didn't want to discourage you from
using tech-talk at all, but (as John Sinclair mentioned) a tracker entry
supports the developers better in handling a possible bug.
If a bug is likely to affect other installations (especially for things
that are widely used in production environments), an additional warning
on tech-talk may in fact be very appropriate.
Thanks for using BOY and finding bugs!

Hello Ralph,
I wasn't aware of that, sorry. Also, I was not sure if it was a bug
and I knew Xihui receives this newsletter regularly.
I will direct my possible further comments to the bug tracking system.
Cheers,
Pawel

Hello PaweÅ,
please note there's also the CSS bug tracking system on SourceForge [1].
Entering bug reports there will make them easier to track and manage -
compared to threads in tech-talk.
Thanks,
Ralph

Hi Xihui,
That's good to hear. I'm looking forward to the newest release. I hope
I don't find any more bugs but if I do I will let you know.
Cheers,
Pawel

Hi Pawel,
Yes, this is a bug. Every string property is supposed to support
macro replacement. I have fixed it now. It will be available in next
release version, probably in one month.
Thank you for finding and reporting it to me!

Subject: BOY - XY Graph and macro substitution
Hello,
I've come across another problem with BOY. This time it concerns the
XY Graph widget.
It seems this widget does not substitute macros. The attached file
demonstrates this behavior. A Text Update, a Label and an XY Graph
widgets are included. For the first two, the $(amacro) text is
substituted but this does not happen for text fields in the XY Graph,
namely the Title and Axis Titles.
Is it a desired behavior or is it a bug?
Cheers,
Pawel Predki
