I was wondering if anyone has been able to connect and subscribe to
something on the order of 60,000 channels through an Epics gateway?
The biggest instance at BESSY II (its clients being archive engines) has ~45,000 active connections.
I've been getting
CA.Client.Exception...............................................
Warning: "Virtual circuit disconnect"
Context: "10.20.0.5:5064"
Source File: ../cac.cpp line 1145

and then I lose connection to all the channels and need to restart the
gateway. I can't find any errors that would seem to point to anything in
the gateway log.
Is that snipped from the Gateway log? That would mean one IOC (with the given IP/port) shuts down the connection to the gateway. If you lose all
channels at that moment - does that single IOC really run all 60,000 channels? If not, whose IP is that?
Does that happen when the Gateway starts up? When clients connect? Even later?
Can the same client(s) connect to the 60,000 channels directly w/o problems?
Looks unusual, at least.
