Hi Jonny,
The IOC uses the Seabreeze libary from OO. It is specified for Linux too. But I never compiled nor tested it for Linux. From the source code side you can modify it with some IFDEFs. The interface is USB, that is what I used with our HR spectrometers.

we have an oceanoptics IOC with the seabreeze libary. The JAZ
spectrometer should be supported but I don't have one, so you have to
test this by yourself and my IOC runs under Windows.
