Thanks for the advice Kay.
I have already went through this document and I hoped that there is another way:)
What I still do not understand is where I can get the plugins. The css_book suggest to use CSS source codes of side specific build and to use "user selection" of plugins included in this build. The thing is that I would like to use a combination of plugins for which I would need to combine source codes of all three main bulits available and combine them somehow. Thus I am wondering if there is some way how to get source code with all available plugins to reduce time spend on the building process and to minimize risk of problems during compilation... Any suggestion?
Cheers,
Mike

Hi:
There is currently no fast approach.
Read http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/docbook/css_book.pdf, it has a whole chapter on site-specific products.
It doesn't necessarily requiring any Java code, just a bunch of 'feature' files to list the plugins you want, a plugin_customization.ini with your site-sepcific settings, and a *.product file to start it up. But it's still a 3 day struggle. Maybe a 1 day struggle if you are an expert already.

Subject: CSS - how to prepare site specific version
Hello everyone,
I am exploring the CSS functionalities - I have started with the SNS Basic EPICS distribution - and now I would like to test some plugins that are not included (e.g. e-log, etc.). Therefore I would like to ask:
. What is the fastest/easiest way how to add custom set of plugins to CSS?
. Do I have to build my own "version" of CSS in EPICS or can I just import plugin jars, restart and adjust configuration?
. Is there any place with all plugins available for download, or where can I get them?
Sorry for dummy questions, but I am not a java developer so I am looking for some easy/fast way how to get this done.
Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
Mike
