I would use the word "strict" myself.  The device support is asking it 
to believe that the named record type will actually exist when the IOC 
is booted.  Your version believes anything you tell it, the newer 3.15 
one is more like a doubting Thomas (or a financial auditor if you 
prefer, it wants to see real evidence).
