This morning Dirk Zimoch sent out a response to this thread which couldnot be delivered to Argonne users of the new Microsoft Exchange mail server because he attached a .pl file, which the server blocked and quarantined. I have talked to CIS and in the future the server should accept .pl and .cmd attachments sent through tech-talk, although I haven't tested it. Dirk's message was successfully archived at
http://www.aps.anl.gov/epics/tech-talk/2013/msg01660.php In it he wrote:
In the attachment is my "stupid" parser. I have a tclx version, but I also have tried to make a slightly simpler perl version.
The code that you posted is named expandDBD.pl but anachronistically it has a #! line that says to execute it using /usr/bin/tclsh.
