Hi, Nicolas.

I hope your EPICS IOC is *not* exposed to the Internet.  EPICS is not
designed to be secure, so you definitely don't want to put it on the
Internet.

It might be wise to get things working with just the EPICS Base caget
and caput programs first, and then once that works, get things working
in Matlab.

Now, you have a CA client on a network in Germany, and you have a CA
server on a different network in the US, and you want the CA client to
be able to access a PV hosted on the CA server in the US, right?

One way to do this would be to set up a VPN so that your CA client can
be on the same network as your CA server.  You probably will have to set
some environment variables correctly.  See:

Another approach would be to tunnel CA through SSH.  See:
