You need the read the complete guide, including chapter 4 on Compiling, Running, Debugging CSS, http://cs-studio.sourceforge.net/docbook/ch04.html, and not just jump to chapter 11 for the RDB-based archive system and then wonder why it doesn’t make sense when taken out of context.
