Hi David,
We, at STAR collaboration at Brookhaven National Lab, are planning to use CAEN SY4527. We are, for the most part, using built-in EPICS IOC on it. There are a few thing that the CAEN’s built-in EPICS would not do; for that, we are using a soft IOC running on a Linux to deal with that (mostly, we wanted to ramp in particular way).
I assume you have looked at that, but thought give one feedback on that. If you would like I can pass you the student’s name/e-mail who is working on the CAEN control.
