Hi Torsten,

Yes, we can certainly go over the database.

I think the link alarm is not a problem. If the soft motor record processes and gets a value from a record with UDF==1, it should be in link alarm.

Yes, that is working.

The problem/issue I have is to get the soft motor out of the link alarm.
It seems as if we need a record-processing, which does not happen.

Hej Tim and all,

We actually got the slit working in the motion controller.
I have, anyway, used the 2slit.db, mainly for testing & learning.

For the motor module, I use a patched version, which keeps the record
in UDF state, until the poller has really talked to the controller.
As a result, the soft motors sometimes (depending on the timing)
stay in "link alarm".
A movement will make the alarm disappear.

Do you think we can go through the db file next week,
some help is wanted.

There is also, in the optics module, 2slit_soft.vdb, which uses soft motor records, instead of ao records, for center and width.

Hi Torsten,

The synApps optics module has support for this type of thing:

Hej motorists,

I recently learned about the transform record, which can be used to control a slit with 2 physical axes in the way that you can set the values for GAP and CENTER and the position of the physical blades are calculated. (Or vice versa)

Does anybody have a super-duper-luxus template file which uses 4 soft motors together with some calc and transform records ?

Thanks in advance
/Torsten
