The Accelerator Systems Division of the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory is offering a Postdoctoral position in their Magnetic Devices (MD) Group. The individual will work with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers to carry out magnetic measurements and tuning of APS insertion devices and develop his/her own program in the enhancement of magnetic measurements capabilities at the APS. Selected individual will also have the opportunity to work in the areas of insertion device (ID) design for APS Upgrade as well as participate in the development and implementation of novel measurements techniques for future generation light sources. Good knowledge of synchrotron radiation sources, and particularly undulators as a main source of such radiation, and good skills in running undulator magnetic measurements and tuning, as well as good ability to conduct magnetic simulation of undulators is desirable.
