Sounds like there is a good chance more scripts will be added in the
future. Have you considered using Michael's Python Device Support module
[1]? Maybe you can convert your shell scripts to Python and run them
inside your IOC?
As Kay mentioned you probably need to run your scripts in a separate
thread. Look at the weatherApp directory for an example of how to do
that with PyDevSup.
