Hi,

We bought cryocoolers from FMB Oxford of the “Cryocooler XV” model.

These have a Siemens PLC that talks to EPICS using the s7plc support module. They use TCP/IP.

A few protein crystallography beamlines’ dual crystal monochromators and one cryogenically cooled permanent magnet undulator at Diamond use an older model.

Those cryocoolers have a different communication mechanism. I believe EPICS support for those was written by Cosylab.

Graeme Elliner ([email protected]) at FMB Oxford may be able to guide you based on the model of your cryocooler.

Regards,

Ronaldo

All,

Is anyone using the EPICS interface for the FMB Oxford Cryocooler controls?

I ask because the code we have for the Beckhoff PLC which is part of the control hardware does not have serial communications enabled. We can get that to work but with some side effects. I am wondering if you have a version of the PLC project with working EPICS interface.

Thanks,

John Dobbins
